A Thought...

Is using Lightroom presets cheating?

I think so....but a few are good stepping stones for adjusting tones in a file that may need the punch some presets help you achieve. I enjoy what happened with the bottom few scanned negative images, however, I feel I wouldn't want to use the presets for work due to the "preset-ey" look they take on.

I do enjoy the way these two processed so I'm not knocking it completely. Just an opinion...

I Hatched a Beauty

So, my blog has been pitiful as of late and I thought the addition of a new camera to my life would be a perfect way to get back to posting images on here.

I have been assisting in NYC for over a year now and have got to see a bevy of different cameras/equipment used and it seemed that the Canon 5D Mark II was a gem among the masses. I was hooked for long enough that I thought a little more debt was worth it. Here are a few snapshots taken whilst I was walking around Riverside Drive with one taken by Nathan, at my instruction. I am very pleased to have got a quite nice self portrait out of it, he did good. (maybe I'll write a book...not)

As the days get colder, I plan to start shooting more still life and food, so I will post as I go...
